Made it to Europe’s Top 10. What about now?

Startup Lisboa was recognized as Europe's Leading Startup Hub in 2024 by the Financial Times & Statista. In the report, Startup Lisboa - Unicorn Factory Lisboa ranked 10th out of 125 selected hubs.

This report aims to identify Europe's best acceleration and incubation programs, determined through a public invitation to more than 2,000 entities, surveys among the community and peers, and additional documentary research - from Statista and Sifted. The ranking process considered factors such as mentoring and training, infrastructure, legal assistance, business development counseling, networking opportunities, funding opportunities, and costs/fees/own capital.

In addition to this ranking distinction, Startup Lisboa also ranks among the hubs with the most track-record and history.

We couldn't have achieved this alone. The +750 startups that have passed through Startup Lisboa and contributed to growing the ecosystem have played a significant role in this recognition. We receive it with joy and responsibility. We know the path lies ahead, and we want to continue growing this hub, which currently supports +230 startups, and aims to reach even more startups, ecosystem players, and all those who want to innovate.

So far, we've positioned ourselves as one of Europe's top 10 leading hubs. And from here?

Startup Lisboa was Unicorn Factory Lisboa's first vertical of activity. Still, with the mission of expanding Lisbon's entrepreneurial ecosystem, other areas will follow this growth, supporting startups, scaleups, and eventually unicorns, acting as an engine for economic growth and a driving force for innovation, attracting talent, new projects, and investment.

From now on, the sky's the limit. In addition to early-stage incubation with Startup Lisboa, acceleration programs for growth-stage scaleups, Soft Landing support for international startups and scaleups planning to set up their businesses in Lisbon, and innovation hubs like the Beato Innovation District, the Gaming Hub, and others that we will announce soon.

This recognition as one of Europe's top startup hubs is a testament to the commitment and dedication of Lisbon's entrepreneurial community and Startup Lisboa's incubation impact over the years. With our eyes set on the future, we are determined to continue driving growth and innovation in Lisbon and beyond, empowering entrepreneurs and emerging companies to reach their full potential.
